Compact power distribution solution for electrical substation
The main objective of NCOC's 1BCMA project is to construct a 16-kilometer pipeline and electrical substation to transport 1 billion m³ of sulfur dioxide gas from the Bolashak onshore complex to third-party plants.
As part of this project, we were tasked with providing an efficient power distribution solution for the main contractor, KCOI, to ensure the efficient operation of the electrical substation. After several months of intensive work, our assembly center assembled a 400-volt distribution board.
The complexity of the project was due to the strict size requirements, which required a compact solution, where we proposed 6000x2200x600 (LxHxD).
The xEnergy Main solution is an Eaton IEC low-voltage switchboard with a current rating of up to 6300 A, and in this case with withdrawable outgoing lines, providing reliable power distribution and motor control for an electrical substation.
xEnergy Main is tested in accordance with IEC EN 61439-2 and TR 61641 standards, ensuring maximum operational and personnel safety.
System design
The innovative design makes the xEnergy Main system particularly suitable for applications where power supply is business critical, such as the oil and gas industry.
The xEnergy Main unit is constructed of sheet metal. The external side walls, rear panel, and all front covers are epoxy-coated. The rear and internal walls, as well as the compartment dividers, are constructed of galvanized steel sheets with a corrosion-resistant coating.
The xEnergy Main distribution board panels are clearly structured into three distinct zones: the busbar zone, where the horizontal and vertical busbars are located. The other two zones are the cable management zone and the equipment zone, where the functional units are located. The IEC 61439-2 standard defines internal separation modes. In xEnergy Main, separation modes 2b, 3b, 4a, and 4b are possible. The xEnergy Main main busbars are designed as a Busbar Back (BBB) and are located in a separate compartment, ensuring proper separation and internal protection. All main and distribution busbars are maintenance-free.
Corner structures can be installed to install the switchboard indoors, allowing for L-, U- or other mounting options.
The switchboard assembly is one of several projects at our assembly center for NCOC's 1BCMA Substation project and its contractor, KCOI. Our completed solutions include a telecommunications cabinet and a 10kV switchgear.
With the launch of our assembly center in Atyrau, we demonstrated our ability to effectively handle complex tasks and offer innovative solutions.
