Inductive slot sensors are suitable for use in confined spaces, such as for detecting boundaries in pointer gauges. In addition to the reference target, ferromagnetic metals can be used as actuator elements. These sensors have a number of certifications for use in hazardous areas. The sensors are equipped for worldwide use.
When combined with a safety amplifier with a switch from Pepperl+Fuchs, such as the KFD2-SH-EX1, it can be used for safety up to SIL 3. The sensor can also be used up to SIL 2 with a safety amplifier with a NAMUR switch.
