The BITE3 is one of the easiest tools to use. Its measurements, along with specific gravity, temperature, and other battery data, can serve as the best basis for assessing the overall health of batteries from terminal block to terminal block, and to a lesser extent, the charger (from pulsating current and its harmonic content). Megger recommends performing impedance measurements with the BITE3 during battery maintenance and comparing the readings with those taken and recorded six months earlier for flooded batteries and quarterly for valve-regulated lead-acid batteries.
The Megger BITE3 Battery Impedance Test Equipment determines the condition of lead-acid cells up to 2000 Ah by measuring the most important battery parameters. The BITE3 measures cell impedance, internal resistance, ohmic cell resistance, and pulsation resistance. For the first time in a battery tester, the BITE3 measures float current and the harmonic content of pulsation current. It even has a built-in spectrum analyzer, displaying the harmonic content of pulsation current. It features firmware that can be updated online and supports multiple languages.
