Insulation testing is performed using a closed-loop voltage measurement, which allows overvoltage to be kept to 2%, compared to the industry standard of 10-20%.
An adjustable range has also been added to allow the use of intermediate voltages in the range of 10V to 1000V in 1V increments for applications requiring a special measurement voltage that does not fit within the standard ranges.
Conductance testing is now significantly faster, and a single automatic range selection function from 0.01 Ω to 1.0 MΩ replaces the ohm and kΩ ranges. Testing at 200 mA and 20 mA is retained.
Replacing the original MIT400 instruments, the new instruments feature a redesigned housing, support structure and a 6-cell battery compartment with separate fuse access.
All devices are multi-layer molded to increase protection and weather resistance to IP54 class.
