EMT6 Electric Motor Protection Relay
EMT6 Electric Motor Protection Relay
Protecting electric motors is one of the most important tasks in the electrical equipment of industrial machines. Eaton offers a wide range of products (from simple bimetallic relays to full-featured motor protection devices), allowing you to find the most suitable option for any application.
This equipment is used to protect machines from overheating during frequent or difficult starts, braking, or undervoltage or overvoltage. The EMT6 protection relay receives a signal from a temperature sensor and, when a certain level is exceeded, triggers a shutdown signal. These devices can be used to monitor the temperature of oil, coolant, gearboxes, and bearings. Eaton offers the following types of thermistor protection relays.
- EMT 6. These devices are equipped with galvanic isolation between the sensor and power supply circuits for increased safety.
- EMT 6-DB. This device is equipped with a manual and automatic control switch, a test button, and LED indicators for network connection and operation.
- EMT 6-DBK. These devices feature built-in manual and automatic reset functions, short-circuit detection, and power failure alarms. This equipment can be used in any circuit equipped with thermistor sensors.
- EMT 6-K. These devices have a built-in short-circuit detection function in the sensor circuit. The relay is activated when the resistance drops below 20 ohms.
- EMT 6-KDB. This equipment is equipped with a reset switch for automatic or manual mode and a test button. The EMT 6-KDB also protects machines from voltage drops and short circuits in the sensor circuit.
