On November 6, Rockwell Automation, Inc. and SLB announced that following a strategic review, the companies had agreed to an orderly termination of their Sensia joint venture.
Founded in 2019, Sensia combined Rockwell's expertise in industrial process automation and IoT technologies with SLB's experience in measurement, instrumentation, and software solutions for the oil and gas industry.
Under the agreement, Rockwell will acquire 100% ownership of the automation business it contributed to the joint venture, and SLB will again become the sole owner of the assets it contributed, including Lift Control and Measurements. Rockwell and SLB will continue to collaborate for the benefit of their customers, now in an even deeper partnership than they had six years ago.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of March 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. The termination of the Sensia joint venture will have minimal impact on customers, and business will continue as usual.
