Operating principle

An inductive sensor consists of a coil through which an alternating current passes, creating an electromagnetic field. When a metal object enters the field's range, eddy currents are generated. These currents create their own magnetic field, which interacts with the coil's original field, changing its parameters, such as amplitude and phase. The results are recorded by the sensor and converted into an electrical signal indicating the presence of a metal object.
