Lighting equipment
Industrial lighting
Industrial lighting plays a vital role in employee safety. No warehouse, workshop, or office can operate without properly positioned lighting equipment. Light sources installed in designated locations optimize the workflow, reduce employee fatigue, and ensure safe production and compliance with established labor standards. The design and equipment of industrial facilities is treated with the utmost care. All structural elements must be reliable, functional, and energy-efficient.
Types of industrial lighting
There are three types of industrial lighting: artificial, natural and emergency.
- Natural light is sunlight shining through windows and reaching the employee's workstation directly or reflected. Window openings in rooms can be positioned higher or lower, and the size of the openings also affects the level of illumination. This type of illumination is more important for psychological well-being, as it is insufficient for work activities.
- Artificial lighting is fundamental and crucial to the organization of work processes. It receives special attention, and lighting equipment is positioned at different levels depending on the type of activity. For employees performing fine manual tasks, individual lighting is added in addition to overhead lighting, directly above the workstation. In industrial spaces, linear luminaires, spotlights, and overhead lamps can be used. To eliminate flickering and ensure sufficient brightness with minimal energy consumption, LED lamps are used.
- Emergency lighting is no less important than the main artificial lighting. It is necessary to guide personnel during an emergency evacuation. Emergency lighting sources are typically powered by a separate line or generator. This is important because an emergency could cause the lights to go out in the building. Emergency lighting fixtures are located at entrances, stairways, and in areas where fire safety equipment is installed.
Industrial LED lighting
LED lighting fixtures have recently become increasingly popular. They are energy-efficient, easy to operate, durable, and practical. They can be used in rooms with high humidity, withstand high and low temperatures, and are dust-resistant. The special housing design of these industrial lighting fixtures protects them from damage and dissipates excess heat.
