Ethernet
The Ethernet isolator combines intrinsically safe energy limiting and galvanic isolation.
The FieldConnex® Ethernet isolator combines intrinsically safe energy limiting and galvanic isolation in a single product. Ethernet connections in Zone 1 hazardous areas can now be installed simply and plug-and-play. This compact device is designed specifically for temporary installations and mobile devices.
The FieldConnex® Ethernet isolator is most useful for machines and equipment that are frequently connected and disconnected during normal operation or installed temporarily. Intrinsically safe energy limiting and galvanic isolation are now available at 100 Mbps.
Galvanic isolation is built in. This eliminates the need for potential equalization and reliable grounding between the safe area and the connection point in the hazardous area. What about the conductors? Flexible Ethernet cable can be used for installation.
Pepperl+Fuchs is an expert in fieldbus infrastructure and explosion protection. Our expertise, working with OEMs, allows us to integrate intrinsically safe Ethernet into virtually any customer device.
Thanks to the Ethernet isolator, expensive and inflexible installations are a thing of the past. The energy-efficient design ensures very low heat dissipation, a definite advantage when cabinet space is limited and at a premium. And long-lasting operation is ensured by the superior electrical design – a fundamental advantage of all Pepperl+Fuchs products and a basic requirement for any modern process automation facility.
