Flame detectors

Spectex 20/20 miniature fire detectors are reliable, general-purpose devices (without Ex approval) with a lower cost, low power consumption, and a compact design. The minimum MTBF for these devices is 100,000 hours.

The manufacturer provides a 3-year warranty for these detectors.

The series includes three 20/... models:

• 20MI. Infrared three-range (IR3) flame detector with maximum immunity to false alarms, in a durable stainless steel housing.
• 20ML. Ultraviolet/Infrared Miniature Detector. Includes both UV and IR sensors, detecting hydrocarbon fuel, gas, hydroxyl, hydrogen, as well as metal and inorganic fires at a distance of up to 15 m. The UV sensor's dedicated logic circuit helps prevent solar radiation-induced alarms. Simultaneous detection of radiant energy by both the UV and IR sensors triggers an alarm.
• 20MPI. A low-power, three-band IR flame detector in a lightweight polycarbonate housing. It retains all the advantages of IR3 technology—long-range fire detection (up to 43 m) and high immunity to false alarms. This mini detector is ideal for indoor use in areas such as airport terminals, train stations, warehouses, public buildings, and more.

The next generation Spectrex SharpEye 40/40D series provides ultra-fast detection of hydrocarbon fuel and gas fires up to 90m away using the latest QuadSense technology.

This series is suitable for any high-risk industrial application with revolutionary built-in UV/IR testing technology, a wide operating temperature range, and resistance to extreme weather conditions.

The series includes four models:

• The 40/40D-I QuadSense™ IR3 ultra-fast multi-range infrared flame detector detects hydrocarbon fires from up to 90 m away in less than 50 ms. Based on proven IR3 technology, this device combines four IR sensors.
• 40/40D-L4B. Ultra-fast UV/IR flame detector. Provides hydrocarbon fuel and gas fire detection in less than 20 ms. Unique dual sensor with selectable UV and IR channels, which can be used separately or together.
• 40/40D-M. Ultra-fast multi-range QuadSense™ IR3 infrared flame detector. Provides ultra-fast (less than 50 ms) detection of hydrogen at a distance of up to 50 m and hydrocarbon fires at a distance of up to 90 m. This model is based on proven IR3 technology, providing the highest sensitivity, best protection against false alarms, and absolute SharpEye safety. The device combines four IR sensors to improve the differentiation of flame sources from background radiation that is not a flame.
• 40/40D-LB Ultra-fast UV/IR Flame Detector. Integrated UV and IR optical sensors detect fires from a wide range of hazardous sources, such as hydrocarbon fuels and gases, hydroxyl, hydrogen, metal, inorganic compounds, and more, in less than 20 ms. Selectable UV and IR channels.
