The development of intelligent digital technologies has already changed the world. Today we have more opportunities than yesterday, and tomorrow we will have more than today. At the heart of this process are devices that create, collect, and process data.
Eaton has recognized the importance of digital technologies and its role in their development to develop a new approach to innovation. We leverage new technologies to improve customer service and encourage employees to use digital tools to increase productivity. We utilize Industry 4.0 technologies, including artificial intelligence and advanced equipment, in our factories and are also developing new technologies for our customers. We create products that enable you to make more effective decisions when choosing products and services with Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities.
We believe that Intelligent Power technology makes the world a better place and are committed to bringing new IoT innovations to market.
In the era of big data and the Internet of Things, digital connectivity is ubiquitous in manufacturing, power grids, commercial and residential buildings, healthcare facilities, and transportation. We implement Intelligent Power management solutions that collect and analyze data and provide practical solutions for optimizing energy consumption and ensuring business continuity.

Intelligent power management
Our products enable the Internet of Things to operate more efficiently. Our products and services in the electrical, aerospace, hydraulic, and transportation industries enable data acquisition.
We create intelligent power management based on three key principles :
Resources – sensors in products that collect data
- We equip our products with sensors and sensing elements that analyze key energy parameters, including electrical (current, voltage, frequency, and power factor), hydraulic (pressure, flow rate, displacement, and contamination), and mechanical (force, speed, pressure, and displacement). We help improve the productivity and cost efficiency of our equipment, as we understand the optimal operating and maintenance practices and have expert knowledge in your field.
- Raw, unprocessed data has limited value. Transforming this data into actionable solutions helps our clients reduce total cost of ownership, improve efficiency, and increase uptime. We use virtual digital models (digital twins) to simulate real equipment. This allows us to quickly develop, design, and test solutions virtually before committing to major capital investments. We extract knowledge from virtual digital models by asking the right questions (what happened? why? how can we control it?), which helps inform new product development.
- We use common protocols and infrastructures for sending and receiving data. Although we operate in markets with a wide variety of processes, we are independent of specific cloud platforms and services. We strive to develop an open, scalable, and secure approach to the information platform, transforming the way systems, things, people, and processes interact. We also collaborate with partners to improve system scalability and facilitate the interoperability of products from different vendors.
Our digital expertise and Intelligent Power solutions will help you:
- Obtain raw data and use it to optimize processes
- Understand how you use energy and create better production models
- Develop and implement advanced data-driven solutions
As the IoT space evolves rapidly, we remain platform-agnostic. We transmit data using leading modern software cores, allowing us to easily tailor our solutions to your needs.
User interface (UX)
Visualization tools use the data collected to provide simplicity and clarity when used on mobile devices, digital control screens, and web applications.
Cloud platform
Services that enable us to consistently retrieve information from equipment, store and analyze it, and share it with customers.
Embedded systems
A suite of hardware and software tools that help us leverage the latest computing resources as they become available.
Cybersecurity
Core protocols that encompass all technical standards, tools, and processes, ensuring end-to-end security. Our approach is to release only " secure by design " platforms and products to the market.

Cars
IntelliConnect : Provides diagnostics and predictive analytics through transmission codes, engine duty cycles and terrain information to notify truck drivers and fleets of vehicle issues in real time.
Data centers
PredictPulse : Eaton's 24/7 predictive monitoring feature monitors and sends real-time parameter and alarm information every 15 minutes to help ensure data center operations remain up and running.
Microgrids
Resilient Power : Whether on or off, the Power Xpert Energy Optimizer controller monitors and regulates all power parameters. The controller connects to the power infrastructure and local grids via open protocols. With diagnostics, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and model-based grid operation, it can handle challenging conditions.
Machinery
Hydraulic Boom Stabilization System : This stabilization system uses on-board sensors to prevent "boom bounce" by detecting vibrations using microprocessors and unique computerized algorithms to automatically stabilize the position of the cylinder and the entire boom.
Cities
Connected Lighting : Lighting fixtures that improve the performance of buildings, businesses, and public spaces through controls and data. Users manage lighting and solve complex problems through the fixture's detection and communication capabilities.
In November 2017, Navigant Research announced that the lighting IoT market is expected to grow from $651.1 million in 2017 to $4.5 billion in 2026. In a recent report, " Navigant Research Rankings: IoT for Lighting, " Eaton was named a key player in the industry.
