Additional environmental protection for Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series control stations is now available with a patented series of overlay covers. Easy-to-install, non-metallic NC covers are available with hinges and open fronts and are ideal for corrosive and harsh environments where wear resistance is essential.
A hinged, safety-access cover prevents accidental activation of the equipment and is ideal for lockout/tagout applications. An open, quick-access front cover provides additional protection from impacts and shocks while still allowing quick access to the control device.
The Crouse-Hinds FlexStation series explosion-proof components are combined into a variety of control stations for use with magnetic starters or contactors for remote control of motors and other electrical equipment.
FlexStation control station components are ideal for use in refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, grain handling and storage facilities, and other heavy industry applications where Class I, II, or III hazards are present.
Crouse-Hinds EMP, EMPS, and EMPX Series explosion-proof actuators are certified worldwide for use in NEC, CEC, and IEC hazardous locations, making them an ideal solution for panel shops, rack assemblers, and other OEM applications worldwide.
EPMX actuators also have Type 4X and IP66W ratings, providing superior protection against corrosion and harsh environments commonly found on offshore platforms, marine installations, refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, food and beverage manufacturing facilities, and process facilities.
Available operator types include: pushbuttons, mushroom head pushbuttons, reset buttons, pilot lights, and selector switches.
The new EDSX series is available with NEMA 4X protection for Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations.
The Crouse-Hinds EDSX, EDS, and EFS series of hazardous area pushbutton control stations, pilot lights, and selector switches are used in conjunction with magnetic starters or contactors for remote motor control. Pilot lights provide visual indication that the desired function is in progress.
EDSX, EDS, and EFS control stations are factory sealed to prevent arcing within the enclosed unit and igniting hazardous atmospheres outside the enclosure. Factory sealing eliminates the need for external seals, simplifies installation, and reduces costs.
Typical applications for the EDSX, EDS, and EFS control stations include industrial environments where the atmosphere may contain hazardous gases and/or dust. A wide range of models is available, providing maximum application flexibility.
- EDSX models are NEMA 4X rated for use in Class I, Division 2 locations.
- EDS - Intended for use in Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D locations.
- EFS - Rated for use in Class I, Division 1, Group B locations
The new EDSX series is available with NEMA 4X protection for Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations.
EDS/EDSX and EFD snap-action switches are used with magnetic starters or contactors to control motors. Control panels with snap-action switches are factory sealed to prevent arcing within the enclosed device and prevent ignition of a hazardous atmosphere outside the enclosure. Factory sealing eliminates the need for external seals, simplifies installation, and reduces material and labor costs.
Eaton Crouse-Hinds' EDSCM explosion-proof modular multi-unit enclosures are designed for surface mounting of control device equipment combinations for use in:
- Connection to magnetic starters or contactors for remote control and monitoring of motors
- Manual starting and stopping of small AC/DC motors
- Control and supply of power to portable electrical devices such as motor generators, compressors, conveyors, portable tools, etc.
The new DSDX series is available with NEMA 4X protection for Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations.
Crouse-Hinds DSD and DSDX explosion-proof covers and device assemblies are designed for use with our EDS/EDSC backboxes and EDSCM modular multi-compartment device enclosures. DSD/DSDX covers are available with a wide range of devices and configurations, including manual motor starters, front-operated pushbuttons, general-purpose latching pushbuttons, side-operated pushbuttons, selector switches, and indicator lights.
